The best part of the scene was when he told Ponyboy to stay gold; that part was the most convincing, since it looked care he was actually dying and because of the way he tell it. taken as a whole, Johnnys character was depicted excellently, though Matt Dillion was definitel y the top blackguard of this film. In the scene that Johnny died, Matt Dillions body language and emotions matched the description of the book very well; he looked very distraught and depressed.
